Attendance Policy

Last Updated: May 2026

Golden Career College students are expected to attend scheduled classes, labs, practicum shifts, assessments, orientations, and required program activities. Regular attendance supports academic success, skills development, professionalism, practicum readiness, and successful program completion.

Students are expected to maintain regular attendance and may be subject to formal attendance review where absences, lateness, missed labs, missed assessments, or practicum attendance concerns may affect program progress, skills readiness, practicum eligibility, or completion.

Refund Policy

Last Updated: May 2026

Golden Career College’s Refund Policy follows the refund requirements under Manitoba’s Private Vocational Institutions Act and Private Vocational Institutions Regulation.

Students may be eligible for a refund if they withdraw, cease to be enrolled, or have their enrolment terminated, depending on the timing and percentage of the program completed.

If a student ceases to be enrolled before the program start date, refunds will be handled in accordance with Manitoba PVI requirements and any non-refundable fees identified in the student contract.

If a student ceases to be enrolled after the program start date, tuition refunds are calculated based on the percentage of the program completed at the time the student ceases to be enrolled:

  • Up to 20% completed: 75% of paid tuition fees refunded

  • 21% to 50% completed: 50% of paid tuition fees refunded

  • 51% or more completed: no tuition fees refunded

The date a student ceases to be enrolled may include the date GCC receives written notice of withdrawal, the date GCC cancels enrolment or expels the student, the date the student exceeds the number of absences allowed under the Attendance Policy, or the date the student graduates, as applicable.

Refunds for books, course materials, equipment, registration fees, and other fees will be handled in accordance with Manitoba PVI requirements and the student’s enrolment contract.

If a third-party funder paid tuition or fees on behalf of a student, any applicable refund may be issued to the funder as required.

For the full policy, please contact Golden Career College or review the student enrolment contract.
